Islamabad: There has been significant progress in the energy sector, where OGRA has sent a detailed report to the government recommending future price reduction for Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited and Sui Southern Gas Company. According to the report, the current average price of Sui Northern is Rs 1852.8 paise per MMBTU, which has been proposed to be reduced to Rs 1804.8 paise.
On the other hand, the revised average price of Sui Southern is currently Rs 1665.99 paise, and the recommendation has proposed to reduce the price to Rs 1549.41 paise, which is a significant reduction compared to the previous rates.
According to OGRA officials, the final decision on the change in prices will be taken by the federal government.
Experts monitoring energy affairs say that if prices are reduced, it will not only lead to a reduction in consumer bills but may also reduce overall inflationary pressure in the market. According to experts, price stability will also play an important role in creating a balance between gas demand and supply.
