Lahore: Following the worsening smog situation, the government has decided to impose strict restrictions on traffic in Lahore. The Punjab Environmental Protection Agency says that from November 15, vehicles that do not have a green sticker or proof of an exhaust test will be removed from the road immediately.

According to Director of Environment Dr Imran Hameed Sheikh, exhaust and noise testing of every vehicle in the city is being made mandatory to reduce air pollution. He said that vehicles plying on the roads without certification will be seized, and action will also be taken against their owners.

Government officials have made it clear that the spread of smog in the city has become a serious threat to human health, and it is not possible to give anyone an exemption for violating the rules.

The public have been appealed to immediately complete the eco-friendly inspections of their vehicles and cooperate with government measures.
