Resigned judges were active for political purposes. Rana Sanaullah

Islamabad: Prime Minister’s Advisor on Political Affairs Rana Sanaullah has accused the resigned judges of having political ambitions and said that no legal justification was given for their resignations.

He said that if these judges really wanted the supremacy of the Constitution, they would have made it clear which aspect of the 27th Amendment was against the Constitution. Rana Sanaullah said that the Judicial Commission includes two representatives each from the government and the opposition, five senior judges of the judiciary, and representatives of the bar and civil society, so the dominance of any one party is not possible.

He said that in the past, division of judges was also seen within the Supreme Court, which is detrimental to the dignity of the judiciary. According to Rana Sanaullah, amending the Constitution is a constitutional power of the Parliament, and no one should interfere in it.

He said that the President will make the final decision on the resignations of the resigned judges. It would have been better if the judges themselves had explained how differences were created in the Supreme Court.
