Lahore: A briefing was given in a meeting regarding the Punjab Housing Program that so far the number of users registered on the portal has exceeded 1.58 million, while 87,590 people have submitted their applications for loans.
Housing Minister Bilal Yasin said that more than 74,500 people have been provided with Rs 90.42 billion for the construction of houses. According to him, 14,000 houses have been completed, while installments of Rs 1.96 billion have also been paid.
Secretary Housing Noorul Amin Mengal presented a detailed report in the meeting regarding departmental performance, ongoing projects and relief activities in flood-affected areas.
Addressing the meeting, the Housing Minister directed that all available resources be utilized to complete the targets set by the Punjab Chief Minister on time. He further said that the supply of clean water and the speed of machinery should be increased in the flood-affected areas so that immediate facilities can be provided to the victims.
These projects reflect the commitment of the Punjab government to provide decent and low-cost housing to the people as well as ensure the rehabilitation of citizens affected by natural disasters.
