Islamabad: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Barrister Gauhar has said that the country needs political tolerance and understanding, not conflict, at this time. He clarified that Sohail Afridi has not been proven to have any connection with any of the May 9 cases, while there are also questions about the location of the viral video.
Taking a clear stance on the issue of terrorism, he said that every organization that is active against Pakistan falls under the category of terrorism, regardless of its background.
Regarding the Karachi visit, Barrister Gauhar said that the Sindh government’s behavior was unexpected, because the closure of roads after granting permission shows political intolerance.
He said that the peaceful attitude of the people in welcoming Sohail Afridi is proof that political activities can be handled through dialogue instead of force.
While discussing parliamentary matters, he said that a consensus has been reached among all parties for the post of opposition leader, which is a welcome development for the democratic system.
According to political analysts, the unity of the opposition is a sign that serious efforts are being made to make the parliament functional, which is very important for the continuity of democracy.
Barrister Gohar stressed that political differences should be resolved through dialogue, not through obstruction and silence.
Speaking on party matters, he said that he does not believe in making differences a media spectacle and gives top priority to party discipline.
According to experts, Barrister Gohar’s conciliatory tone is not only creating stability within the party but can also help reduce tension in domestic politics.
