Islamabad: In Islamabad, President Asif Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif held an important meeting at the Presidential Palace in which they openly discussed the country’s political situation and security issues. High-level figures such as Ishaq Dar, Mohsin Naqvi, Ahsan Iqbal, Sherry Rehman and other leaders were also present in the meeting.
According to sources, the meeting reviewed in detail the regional and international pressures facing Pakistan, especially the challenges on the economic front. The Prime Minister briefed the President on his visits to Egypt and Malaysia and informed him about his discussions with world leaders regarding peace in Gaza.
Later, a separate meeting was held between the two leaders in which it was decided that political consultations on national-level issues will be continued on a regular basis so that continuity in policies is maintained.
