PPSC exams postponed due to flood situation, decision on school holidays expected tomorrow

Lahore: Due to the ongoing flood situation across Punjab, the Punjab Public Service Commission (PPSC) has postponed the exams scheduled for August 30 and 31. The decision was announced after a meeting chaired by Chairman PPSC Lt. Gen (retd) Muhammad Abdul Aziz, which was attended by Secretary Afzal Ahmed, Member Exam Mirza Sohail Amir and Incharge Rana Rahat Amin and other officers.

According to the PPSC spokesperson, the postponed exams also included the test for 434 posts of Inspector Legal Punjab Police, in which more than 8,000 candidates were registered from across the province. The spokesperson added that the new dates of the exams will be announced later so that the candidates can be informed in time.

On the other hand, an important decision is also expected regarding the extension of holidays of educational institutions in Punjab.  Sources say that Punjab Education Minister Rana Sikandar will chair a meeting of the Disaster Risk Reduction Working Group on Friday, where a final announcement regarding school holidays will be made keeping in mind the ground realities.

Due to the flood situation, not only are educational activities being affected, but thousands of candidates are also facing difficulties. According to experts, decisions related to exams and the education system in such situations are being taken keeping in mind public convenience and safety.
