Islamabad: According to sources, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and President Asif Ali Zardari had a close meeting in which the possibility of a government change, i.e., “in-house change”, in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) was discussed in particular.
In this meeting, the Prime Minister gave a detailed briefing to President Zardari on his recent visit to Saudi Arabia and government and political matters. In addition, the two leaders also discussed the Pak-Afghan border tension and discussed the election of the new Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir and the government formation process.
Several high-level leaders were also present during the meeting, including Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, Raja Pervez Ashraf, Political Advisor to the Prime Minister Rana Sanaullah, Law Minister Azam Nazir Tarar, Tariq Fazal Chaudhry, Sherry Rehman, and Farooq H. Naik. Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar participated through video link.
This meeting has come at a time when political activities are in full swing in Azad Kashmir and preparations are being made to complete the government formation process as soon as possible.
