Islamabad: The World Health Organization (WHO) has warned in its latest report that if immediate measures are not taken, Pakistan’s health system may be under severe pressure from epidemics.
According to the report, dozens of hospitals in the flood-affected areas have either been completely destroyed or severely damaged, which has further limited treatment facilities.
According to the data, a 41 percent increase in dengue cases has been recorded in recent days, while a 26 percent increase in malaria patients has also been recorded. Diarrhea is spreading rapidly in Balochistan and Sindh, while in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, cases of snake and dog bites are increasing in addition to scabies, skin diseases.
