Islamabad: Federal Defense Minister Khawaja Asif, while addressing the National Assembly, stressed the unity of the Muslim Ummah and said that if Muslim countries still prioritize their individual priorities, all of them will have to suffer in turn. He said that some countries of the Ummah are very weak militarily, so unity is the need of the hour. In his address, he condemned the Israeli attack on Iran and said that Iran is not only our brotherly Islamic country but also has long-standing relations with Pakistan.

Khawaja Asif termed Israel’s targeting of Iran, Yemen and Palestine as open aggression and said that now is the time to convene an urgent meeting of the OIC to decide on a joint course of action. He said that a united voice of the Islamic world against Israel is the need of the hour, because if these atrocities were committed against a Western country, the international community would not remain silent.

He said that targeting Iran’s nuclear facilities is not only worrying but also a threat to international peace. Talks with the US on Iran’s nuclear program are ongoing, but Israeli attacks are hindering this process. He added that Islamic countries related to Israel should review these ties.

The Defense Minister categorically stated that Pakistan’s position was ambiguous and said that Pakistan did not recognize Israel nor did it establish any relations. He termed Judaism as an enemy of Islam and said that the Pakistani nation stands in complete solidarity with the Iranian people.

Talking about Abhinandan, Khawaja Asif said that his return was a surrender, at that time all the parties were present in the committee room and the Prime Minister was being awaited. He also accused the then Prime Minister and Army Chief of hurting public expectations. Khawaja Asif said that the Pakistan Air Force shot down the Indian plane and arrested Abhinandan, while the nation decided that there would be no compromise on the country’s dignity.
