ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has once again reiterated its unwavering stance on the principles of peace, sovereignty and justice at the global level and termed Israeli actions as detrimental to global efforts against terrorism.

According to Foreign Office Spokesperson Tahir Hussain Andrabi, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar appreciated the sacrifices of the Somali people and security forces and said that Somalia is in dire need of international support at this time to ensure stability and security there.

He fully supported the OIC’s appeal to avoid contact with the so-called administration of Somaliland, as such actions are against the sovereignty of Somalia.

According to the Foreign Office statement, Ishaq Dar categorically rejected any plan for the forced displacement of the Palestinian people and said that Pakistan will continue to strongly support the right of Palestinians to self-determination. He described an independent Palestinian state as the only basis for lasting peace in the Middle East.

Ishaq Dar also called for practical steps from the international community to end the war in Gaza and establish a permanent ceasefire and said that Pakistan would continue to raise its voice for the Palestinian cause in the Security Council.

Meanwhile, while talking about the Kashmir issue, he said that the main cause of tension in South Asia is the unresolved Kashmir dispute and its solution should be in accordance with UN resolutions.
