Jeddah: The situation in Palestine was discussed in an extraordinary meeting of OIC Foreign Ministers, where Pakistani Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar said that the famine imposed by Israel in Gaza has made the humanitarian crisis serious.
He said that thousands of innocent Palestinians have been martyred in the Israeli bombing, a large number of whom are innocent children. Attacks on hospitals, educational institutions and refugee camps are a clear violation of international law.
Ishaq Dar said that the international community should play its role for an immediate and unconditional ceasefire and ensure safe access of emergency humanitarian aid to Gaza. He termed Israel’s Greater Israel plan as a major threat to regional peace and said that Pakistan rejects this plan.
The Foreign Minister added that Pakistan stands with the Palestinian people and fully supports the two-state solution based on the pre-1967 borders.
Addressing the meeting, Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan also described Israeli actions as a violation of international law and said that the Greater Israel vision was unacceptable.
