All DISCOs, K-Electric, Central Power Purchasing Agency and other relevant institutions participated in the meeting.
According to a Nepra statement, detailed discussions were held in the meeting on net metering, time of use tariff and micro off-grid solutions. The heads of DISCOs termed the TORs presented by Nepra as comprehensive and need of the hour.
The statement said that some stakeholders were of the opinion that the off-grid study should be kept on a limited scale, however, all institutions were directed to submit their final proposals and data within seven days.
According to the announcement, after the approval of the final TORs, the DISCOs will be allowed to hire consultants and conduct studies. The participants of the meeting agreed that alternative energy and off-grid solutions are the sustainable way forward for the long-standing problems of the power sector.
