Islamabad: The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has issued a notification announcing a significant reduction in electricity prices. Under this decision, electricity consumers across the country will get relief in their bills for the month of July 2025.
According to the NEPRA announcement, the price of electricity per unit has been reduced by Rs 4.3 for electricity consumers in Karachi, who are provided with K-Electric service. In addition, a reduction of 50 paisa per unit has been approved for electricity consumers in other parts of the country.
According to officials, this reduction for K-Electric has been made on the basis of the monthly adjustment of 2025, while for the rest of the country, electricity has been made cheaper in light of the adjustment of May 2025.
According to Nepra, K-Electric had requested a reduction of Rs 4.69 per unit in the April adjustment, which was revised and approved a reduction of Rs 4.3.
This decision has been taken to provide relief to consumers in the context of ongoing inflation in the country, the impact of which will be clearly seen in the electricity bills of July.
