Mohsin Naqvi visits FIA headquarters, decides to reorganize the agency and modern reforms

Islamabad: Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi visited the headquarters of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), where he laid flowers at the martyrs’ memorial and offered Fateha. An important meeting was also held during the visit, which was chaired by the Interior Minister himself.

The meeting was attended by Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry, Interior Secretary, Chairman CDA, FIA Director General and other senior officers.

Mohsin Naqvi decided to reorganize the FIA on modern lines and immediately sought a comprehensive plan. The meeting directed to start the process of immediate amendments in the laws and rules to make the agency more functional.

The Interior Minister also approved the modern technology and necessary weapons required by the FIA, and clarified that the performance of the agency will be the basis for its further privileges.

He said:

“The FIA must meet the expectations of both the public and the government. A zero-tolerance policy should be adopted against the mafia involved in illegal immigration and a ruthless crackdown should be carried out.”

Mohsin Naqvi also directed to make the immigration process at airports easy and convenient, and to set up fast-track counters for the convenience of citizens. He also issued orders to shift the FIA Academy to the newly allotted land and complete the rehabilitation of the Karachi Zonal Office as soon as possible.

The meeting directed to fill vacant posts immediately and to make the training curriculum according to modern lines keeping in mind the needs of the institution.
