Islamabad: The Meteorological Department has announced that an upcoming lunar eclipse will be visible in several parts of the world, including Eastern Europe, Asia, North America, South America, the Pacific region, the Atlantic, the Indian Ocean, the Arctic, and Australia.
According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department, the celestial event will occur at specific times according to Pakistan Standard Time (PST).
Lunar Eclipse Timings in Pakistan
The department said:
- The lunar eclipse will begin at 1:44 PM (PST)
- It will reach its peak at 4:34 PM (PST)
- The eclipse will end at 7:23 PM (PST)
Astronomy enthusiasts are advised to check local visibility conditions, as viewing depends on moonrise and regional weather patterns.
Global Visibility
The eclipse will be visible across major regions of the world, making it a widely observable astronomical event. Experts say lunar eclipses occur when the Earth comes between the Sun and the Moon, casting a shadow on the Moon’s surface.
Unlike solar eclipses, lunar eclipses are safe to watch with the naked eye.
Officials encourage the public to stay updated through official weather and astronomy bulletins for any changes.
