Islamabad: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, while addressing the Senate, revealed that the incidents of terrorism in the country have increased even more than 2012.
He said that after the Afghan Taliban government came to power, there was no formal contact between the two countries for four years, however, he personally went to Afghanistan for talks and took a clear stance that Afghan soil should not be used against Pakistan.
According to the Foreign Minister, forty thousand TTP fighters entered Pakistan from Afghanistan, while the then government released more than a hundred dangerous terrorists from jails, which was a serious mistake.
Ishaq Dar said that terrorism had been controlled by 2018 due to operations, but later extremist activities increased again. He further said that the number of madrassas in the country has increased from 38,000 to 150,000, however, the government has decided to fight terrorism till the last breath.
Negotiations with Afghanistan will resume on November 6, which are expected to make positive progress.
He said that from May 6 to 10, former US President Donald Trump played a very active role for peace. At that time, India carried out 80 drone attacks on Pakistan, out of which 79 were neutralized while one drone caused minor damage.
Ishaq Dar said that India’s false narrative was exposed. The army launched a counter-attack at 4 pm, which ended in just four hours. At 8:17 pm, US Senator Marco Rubio called that India was ready for a ceasefire.
He further revealed that the letter to award the Nobel Prize to Donald Trump was sent under his signature on June 11, which was in recognition of the American role. This nomination for the Nobel Prize will be considered for next year.
