India’s view on the strategic defense agreement between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia

Islamabad: India has reacted to the strategic defense agreement between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia and said that it is closely reviewing this development.

Indian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal told the media that New Delhi is looking at this agreement in the context of national security, regional balance and global stability and attention is being paid to all aspects in this regard.

It may be recalled that Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif arrived in Riyadh yesterday, where he was given a grand welcome. Later, in an important meeting with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, the two countries signed a joint defense agreement.

The joint declaration states that this agreement will further expand the decades-long historical partnership between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia. The aim of the agreement is to enhance defense cooperation and strengthen peace and security. According to the declaration, in the event of any aggression, an attack on one country will be considered an attack on both.
