Islamabad: Pakistan has termed India’s recent intercontinental missile test as a major threat to regional and world peace. The Foreign Office spokesperson said that such steps will increase the arms race and further deteriorate the balance of power in the region.

The spokesperson said that India’s growing missile stockpiles also expose the double standards of the international community, as such steps are turned a blind eye. In this situation, Pakistan is committed to its full-spectrum deterrence policy to ensure national security and regional peace.

According to the Foreign Office, Pakistan considers CPEC as a comprehensive development project that is not only benefiting the country’s economy but is also opening new doors for connectivity and development in the region. The spokesperson said that Pakistan is hopeful that CPEC will become a source of prosperity and stability in the future.

The spokesperson further said that Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar will visit Bangladesh tomorrow, where the two countries will hold high-level talks on issues of relations and mutual cooperation. However, there is currently no schedule for the US Secretary of State’s visit to Pakistan in October.

He said that Pakistan and its friendly countries continue to cooperate closely in the field of counter-terrorism. The international community is now also seriously looking at India’s terrorism and targeted killing activities in Pakistan, which is a new challenge to regional peace.
