Increase in minimum wages of workers, important decision of Punjab government

Lahore: A positive development has come for the labor class as Deputy Commissioner Lahore Syed Musa Raza has fixed new wage rates for all government and private institutions. This step has been implemented on the instructions of the Punjab Finance Department to provide better financial security to the workers.

According to the notification, the daily wage of an unskilled laborer has been fixed at Rs 1538 and the monthly salary at Rs 40,000, while the wage of a semi-skilled laborer will be Rs 1558 per day and Rs 43,108 per month. For skilled laborers, the daily wage has been fixed at Rs 1975 and the monthly salary at Rs 45,945.

According to government officials, the new rates are aimed at providing support to workers in the era of rising inflation. All private and government institutions have been directed to ensure immediate implementation of this decision.

Economists welcomed the decision and said that this move will improve the financial conditions of workers and increase their purchasing power.
