ISLAMABAD: In view of the growing complications related to his health, the founder of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf and former Prime Minister Imran Khan has requested the Islamabad High Court to allow him to undergo a medical examination by specialist doctors at Shaukat Khanum Hospital. The petition, filed by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi, has taken the stand that the medical facilities available in the jail are not sufficient for his treatment.
The petition states that Imran Khan is facing various health issues, which require a complete diagnosis by experts who are also aware of the details of his previous treatment. In this regard, the Punjab government has been made a party to the Jail Department platform.
The petition further states that it is the responsibility of the state to provide proper medical facilities to prisoners and any delay in this can be considered a violation of human rights.
