ISLAMABAD: Director General of the Pakistan Army’s Public Relations Department (ISPR) Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry has made it clear that Pakistan will not compromise on its territory and integrity, and anyone who violates it will be dealt with severely and ruthlessly. Speaking to British media, he said that rising tensions in the region were in no way good for global or regional peace.
Lt. Gen. Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry said both Pakistan and India are nuclear powers, and serious tensions between them could push the entire region towards destruction. He warned India that if it is dreaming of a war front against Pakistan, it is not only unrealistic. This could be disastrous for South Asia.
The DG ISPR also highlighted that the international community, especially countries like the United States, is well aware of India’s belligerent intentions and the possible consequences of nuclear tensions in the region. He said India is raising the military presence in occupied Kashmir by calling it an “internal matter” and harassing Kashmiris, which is a blatant violation of human rights.
He stressed that the Kashmir issue should be resolved in accordance with the UN Security Council resolutions. He said that Pakistan wants peace, but there can never be any compromise on defense.
