Identity data now under the control of citizens, NADRA introduces smart tracking app

Islamabad: Taking an important step towards protecting the privacy of citizens, NADRA has introduced a digital app that will play a key role in making the use of identity information transparent. Through the new app, the public will be able to monitor their identity records themselves.
According to officials, this platform has been created with the aim of keeping people informed about where their information is being used. Users have been provided with a complete tracking system where the details of each verification will be recorded, including the relevant institution, date and time.
NADRA says that this initiative will not only give citizens confidence in their data but will also increase the accountability of institutions. In case of any unusual or unauthorized verification, the user will be able to take immediate notice.
The app has been equipped with advanced security features that will protect against threats like data leaks, fake verification and cybercrime. Additional features like alerts, complaint filing and instant guidance are also being planned in the future.
According to technology experts, this step could prove to be a milestone towards strengthening digital transparency and e-governance in Pakistan, which will further strengthen the relationship of trust between citizens and institutions.
