Holiday announced in educational institutions across Sindh on March 11 on the occasion of Youm Ali (R.A)

Karachi: The Sindh government has declared a public holiday in educational institutions across the province on the occasion of Youm-e-Ali (R.A). A formal notification has been issued by the Sindh Education Department in this regard.
According to the notification issued, all government and private schools and colleges across Sindh will remain closed on Wednesday, March 11, 2026. This holiday is being given on the occasion of Youm-e-Ali (R.A) on the occasion of 21st Ramadan.
According to the Education Department, teaching activities will be suspended in educational institutions across the province on this day and students and teachers will be given a holiday. Every year, the Sindh government gives a holiday in educational institutions on the occasion of Youm-e-Ali (R.A) so that the people can celebrate this important religious day with devotion and respect.
Youm-e-Ali (R.A) is considered an important day in Islamic history. On this day, gatherings and religious gatherings are organized in different cities in memory of the martyrdom of Hazrat Ali (R.A). For this reason, processions are also taken out in many cities and special security arrangements are made.
According to government sources, the purpose of suspending educational activities on this day is to facilitate the public to participate in religious ceremonies and to improve security arrangements.
According to educational circles, this decision will give students and teachers an opportunity to participate in religious activities, while educational institutions will open as usual from the next day.
The Sindh Education Department has also issued instructions to all educational institutions to implement the notification issued.
