Islamabad: Preparations for the Federal Budget 2025-26 have accelerated, and important good news has come out for the public in this regard. According to Federal Secretary of Finance Imdadullah Bosal, the new budget will be presented in Parliament on June 10, 2025, while the Economic Survey will be released on June 9.
Chairman FBR Rashid Mahmood Langrial said during a press briefing that no additional tax has been decided on solar panel imports in the new budget. He said that this decision was taken to promote solar energy so that green energy can be encouraged at the urban and commercial levels.
He also announced that teachers will be given a 25 percent income tax rebate in the next financial year, which will either be given in the form of a refund or adjusted from existing dues.
Rashid Langrial further said that the Senate Standing Committee on Finance has approved the Income Tax Second Amendment Bill 2025. The FBR and the government are trying to provide more relief to the salaried class by talking to the IMF, while tax exemptions or facilities are also being considered for other sectors.
On the other hand, Finance Advisor Khurram Shahzad confirmed in a statement on social media platform X (formerly Twitter) that the federal budget will be presented on June 10 as scheduled, and all budget documents will be completed on time.
