Lahore: Holidays are being declared in Punjab and Balochistan on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr, under which government employees are getting a long break.
According to a notification issued by the Punjab government, three-day holidays are being given in the province from Thursday to Saturday. During this time, all government offices will remain closed, and citizens are seen busy in preparations for Eid.
The Balochistan government is also declaring a public holiday on March 19, as a result of which government and private institutions will remain closed across the province. This decision is further strengthening the preparations for Eid.
These holidays become more important when they are considered in conjunction with other government holidays. Due to the weekly holiday on Sunday and the Pakistan Day holiday, a total of five consecutive days of holidays are being made.
The federal government has already announced two-day holidays for Eid-ul-Fitr on March 20 and 21, which are being applied to government offices across the country.
Thus, the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr not only holds religious significance for government employees but also provides them with an excellent opportunity to relax, spend time with family, and strengthen social ties.
These long holidays are also affecting business activities, travel plans, and shopping trends, which is likely to increase the rush in the markets.
