Islamabad: The Meteorological Department has issued a fresh weather forecast and said that most areas of the country will remain in the grip of cold and dry weather during the next 24 hours.
According to the agency, the plain areas of Punjab will remain affected by smog and light fog, while the weather will remain cool and dry in Murree, Galiyat and Islamabad. There is a possibility of a significant drop in temperature in the morning hours.
The Meteorological Department further said that the intensity of cold is expected to increase in the northern districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, while the weather will remain hot and dry in most areas of Sindh. Cold weather will continue in the northern districts of Balochistan, while the weather is also likely to remain dry and cold in Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan.
According to meteorologists, the weather remained dry across the country in the last 24 hours, however, a light layer of smog was observed in some areas of Punjab.
According to the report, the lowest temperature was recorded in Leh at minus 5 degrees Celsius, while Kalam, Skardu and Ziarat recorded minus 3 degrees Celsius. The minimum temperature in Islamabad was recorded at 6 and the maximum at 29 degrees Celsius.
