Islamabad: Information Minister Atta Tarar has said that digital media is not only the need of the present era but has become the most powerful tool for effective representation of Pakistan in the global narrative. Talking to the media, he said that resolving political differences through dialogue is the best way, while decisions like boycotts not only create a political vacuum but also give rise to a crisis of confidence.
He said that the increase in Pakistan’s IT exports is welcome for the country’s economy and the improvement of digital infrastructure is playing a key role in this sector. He said that the government is taking practical steps to develop digital platforms on modern lines so that Pakistan’s position can be presented more strongly at the global level.
Atta Tarar further said that the journey from newspapers to electronic media was a systematic change, but the transition from electronic media to digital media happened very quickly, which completely changed the way of exchanging information. He said that it has become possible to respond to anti-national propaganda in a timely manner through digital media.
The Information Minister said that Azerbaijan and other countries have shown interest in Pakistan’s digital information model, while an effective mechanism against fake news is being formed to prevent the spread of misinformation related to national security.
