Demand to postpone matriculation exams in Punjab: Private Schools Association’s stand

The Pakistan Private Schools Association has demanded a review of the government’s decision regarding matriculation exams in Punjab and appealed for compensation for educational losses.

Association leader Abrar Ahmed Khan says that about 80 percent of students across the country reach school without transport, while those students who use transport should be provided with the facility of online classes in view of the current situation.

According to him, students in Punjab have been given less than 124 days to study during the current academic session, which is insufficient for complete preparation of the curriculum.

The association has warned that the commencement of examinations from March 28 could cause mental stress for students as the required time to complete the syllabus was not provided. Keeping this educational crisis in mind, it has been demanded that the matriculation examinations be cancelled immediately and new dates announced so that students get adequate opportunity to prepare.

According to the Private Schools Association, the change in the examination schedule is not only in the best interest of students but will also help maintain the quality of education.
