LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, while announcing historic steps for the convenience of passengers on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr, has expressed strong displeasure over the collection of additional fares by transporters.
She has issued a categorical instruction to the authorities that immediate and strict legal action should be taken against any transporter who charges even one rupee more than the fixed fares.
The Chief Minister, while ordering the Deputy Commissioners of all districts to go out into the field, said that black marketing of tickets at bus stands will not be tolerated under any circumstances.
She directed that the official fare should be displayed at a conspicuous place at every stand so that passengers are aware.
Moreover, orders have also been issued to arrange iftar especially for the fasting people and to ensure proper arrangements for cleanliness, fans and seating at bus stands.
