Lahore: The construction sector at the national level is facing another challenge as according to a new report by the Federal Bureau of Statistics, a slight but continuous increase in cement prices is being seen. According to the report, the average price of cement per bag in the northern zone last week was Rs 1,379, which is an increase compared to the previous week.
The same trend continued in the southern cities, where the price increased from Rs 1,440 to Rs 1,441. Experts say that this increase in prices is certainly small, but it is highlighting the effects of inflation in the overall trend of the market.
New prices in different cities
- Islamabad: Rs 1,367
- Rawalpindi: Rs 1,361
- Sialkot: Rs 1,370
- Gujranwala: Rs 1,400
The highest cement price in Lahore was recorded at Rs 1,466, while the rates in the cities of southern Punjab and KP remained between Rs 1,300 and 1,400.
Among the cities of Balochistan, Quetta was the most expensive at Rs 1,490, while among the cities of Sindh, Hyderabad was trading at Rs 1,428, Sukkur at Rs 1,500 and Karachi at Rs 1,378.
