ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) has held intra-party elections, in which Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has been unanimously re-elected as the party chairman for another four years.
According to a statement issued by the party, the elections were held on April 12 at the Central Secretariat in Islamabad. Under the party constitution, office bearers are elected for a four-year term. Among other elected officials, Humayun Khan has been elected as Secretary General, Nadeem Afzal Gondal (Chan) as Information Secretary, and Amna Paracha as Finance Secretary.
Party leaders and activists have described Bilawal Bhutto Zardari’s re-election as a sign of democratic continuity and stability of the party. According to political observers, these elections have strengthened the party’s internal organization and laid the foundation for an organized strategy for the upcoming general elections.
