Islamabad: The much-awaited 5G spectrum auction will be held in Pakistan next month on March 10, 2026, the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has officially announced.
According to the PTA, this schedule will provide telecom operators and potential bidders with an opportunity to prepare properly. Ahead of the auction, the PTA has issued an Information Memorandum (IM), which outlines the bidding rules, bands and technical conditions.
This move by ATL will help strengthen Pakistan’s digital infrastructure and implement high-speed mobile internet services. Experts say that this step is an important milestone for the introduction and commercial rollout of 5G services.
Technology and telecom experts have welcomed this development. According to them, 5G networks will not only provide high-speed data connections but will also boost internet capacity and new digital business services. He also said that
“If the auction is completed in a transparent and competitive manner, both Pakistan’s consumers and industry will benefit.”
