HOLIDAY

Karachi: The Government of Sindh has officially issued a notification declaring Thursday, April 4, 2026, as a public holiday across the province. The holiday is observed to mark the death anniversary of the former Prime Minister of Pakistan, Zulfikar Ali Bhutto.

Preparations for special events and rallies across Sindh on the occasion of April 4, the most important day in Pakistan’s political history, are in the final stages. This day is celebrated in memory of the hanging of Former PM Zulfikar Ali Bhutto in Rawalpindi jail in 1979, due to which the Sindh government has declared a public holiday this year as well.

Large gatherings, seminars and prayer ceremonies will be organised by PPP leaders and workers in Garhi Khuda Bakhsh and other cities. These events will highlight Zulfikar Ali Bhutto’s political struggle, raising his voice for public rights and his historic role in the country’s politics.

It should be noted that Zulfikar Ali Bhutto’s death anniversary is celebrated on a large scale in Sindh every year. His admirers visit the shrine in large numbers and remember his services by the title of ‘Leader of the People’. This year too, the flow of workers from all over the country has started.
