Lahore: The Pakistan Meteorological Department has released the lunar calendar for the year 2026 for the public. The calendar includes the possible dates of the beginning of the Islamic months, as well as the times of birth and sighting of the moon.
According to the report, the moon of Shaban in 2026 is expected to be seen on January 21 and the moon of Ramadan on February 18, while the possible date of the moon of Shawwal will be March 19, 2026, according to which Eid-ul-Fitr is also expected on the same day.
According to further predictions, the moon of Dhul-Hijjah is likely to be seen on May 17, after which the arrangements for Hajj and Eid-ul-Adha can be estimated. The new Hijri year is also expected to start on June 15 after the moon of Muharram.
The moon of Rabi’ al-Thani is predicted to be seen on September 12, Jumada al-Awwal on October 12, Jumada al-Thani on November 10 and Rajab al-Murjab on December 10.
Experts say that this calendar has been developed with the help of meteorological analyses and scientific data so that government agencies, schools, religious organizations and the public can plan their activities in advance.
