Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif’s commitment to modernizing IT and economy

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif chaired a key meeting on FBR’s digital reforms and investment opportunities, which was attended by heads of international IT companies and local experts.


PM said that artificial intelligence (AI) and the IT sector are reshaping Pakistan’s economy. We have the best experts in the world who, if given the opportunity, can deliver extraordinary results. The Pakistani business community is making its mark at the international level and we have to tap their potential, he stressed


The meeting was briefed on FBR’s digital transformation plans. The Prime Minister directed that “special webinars should be organized to make investors aware of the opportunities. “Lasting and sustainable development is possible only with the involvement of Pakistani investors,” he said.


The meeting was attended by Finance Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar, IT Minister, and CEOs of international companies, including the Secretary General of the Digital Cooperation Organization. He said that the government will accelerate reforms in IT, tech start-ups, and other sectors. So that the economy can be built on modern lines.
