ISLAMABAD: The Department of Immigration and Passports has issued a new schedule for machine-readable passport (MRP) renewal fees. These fees vary according to the duration of the passport, the number of pages, and the nature of the processing (normal or urgent).
In Pakistan, the normal fee for a 36-page passport for a five-year period has been fixed at Rs 4,500 and the urgent fee at Rs 7,500. The normal fee for the 10-year period of the same passport is Rs 6,700, and the urgent fee is Rs 11,200.
The normal fee for a 72-page passport for a 5-year period is Rs 8,200, and the urgent fee is Rs 13,500, while the normal fee for a 10-year period is Rs 12,400, and the urgent fee is Rs 20,200.
The normal fee for a 100-page passport for a 5-year period is Rs 9,000, and the urgent fee is Rs 18,000, while the normal fee for a 10-year period is Rs 13,500, and the urgent fee is Rs 27,000.
A new schedule of fees has also been issued for overseas Pakistanis. In Saudi Arabia, the normal fee for a 36-page passport for a 5-year period is 84 riyals, and the urgent fee is 140 riyals, while the normal fee for a 10-year period is 126 riyals, and the urgent fee is 210 riyals.
The normal fee for a 72-page passport for a 5-year period is 154 riyals, and the urgent fee is 252 riyals, while the normal fee for a 10-year period is 231 riyals and the urgent fee is 378 riyals.
The normal fee for a 100-page passport for a 5-year period is 168 riyals, and the urgent fee is 336 riyals, while the normal fee for a 10-year period is 252 riyals, and the argent fee is 504 riyals.
The Department of Immigration and Passports has advised citizens to submit complete documents along with the prescribed fee for passport renewal so that any delay can be avoided.
