Lahore: A severe heat wave is underway across Punjab, due to which the temperature is being recorded 5 to 7 degrees Celsius above normal. According to the Meteorological Department, the temperature is likely to reach 45 degrees Celsius in the districts of Bahawalpur, Rahim Yar Khan, Dera Ghazi Khan and Multan in southern Punjab.
The Meteorological Department has predicted that there is no possibility of rain during the next two to three days, and the dry weather will persist, which will further increase the intensity of the heat.
Health experts have advised citizens to avoid the sun during the daytime, drink more water, and take precautions to protect children, the elderly, and women in particular from the heat.
The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has also directed the citizens to take appropriate measures to avoid the intensity of heat and contact the concerned authorities in case of any emergency.
