Lahore-Rawalpindi bullet train project launched

Lahore: Under the vision of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, practical progress has started on the project of running a bullet train from Lahore to Rawalpindi.

In the meeting chaired by Senior Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb and the Minister of Railways, a special working group was formed to prepare the feasibility and timeline of the bullet train project. The group includes Transport Minister Bilal Akbar, Shahid Tarar, and the chairman and CEO of Railways.

A detailed briefing on new rail routes, networks, and the upgrading of existing tracks was given in the meeting. Marriyum Aurangzeb said that the chief minister’s vision is to make the train a modern public ride with comfortable and quality travel facilities.

He added that the upgrading of the railway stations of Lahore and Rawalpindi is also included in the plan, and work will also be done on the beautification of the Lahore-Rawalpindi track. The senior minister clarified that the initial proposals of the project will be submitted to the chief minister next week.
