ISLAMABAD: There was a lot of commotion in the Senate meeting today. At first, the opposition made noise and shouted slogans during the speech of Law Minister Nazir Tarar. When the opposition talked about counting, the chairman of the Senate started counting the members.
At the same time, the senators of the PPP, a government ally, also rose from their seats in protest and went in front of the chairman and started chanting “Reject water theft.”
The chairman of the Senate asked Sherry Rehman to discuss the matter in the House. The law minister said the PPP had been contacted on the directives of Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif, and all parties were being consulted on the issue.
Azam Nazir Tarar assured that the issue will be discussed sitting, no decision will be forced, and the ministers will also respond in the House.
After the protest, the PPP senators walked out, after which the N-League senators also left.
