Lahore: Federal Minister for Planning Ahsan Iqbal has said that instead of doing politics over a sensitive national issue like water, it should be handed over to technicians and engineers. Speaking to the media, he warned that if provincial hatred is created, not just one, but all provinces will suffer.
Ahsan Iqbal said that no province can take away even a drop of water from the other’s share. “If we inflame passions, water security will be in grave danger.”
The federal minister revealed that the rainfall has decreased by 40 percent this year as well, and the country may face threats such as floods and severe drought in the future. He said that Pakistan is currently facing two major challenges, like food security and water security, for which it is necessary to find solutions on the basis of national integration and science.
