We want continuity of partnership. Ataullah Tarar

Islamabad: Federal Minister for Information Ataullah Tarar, while discussing the sensitive issue of water sharing, has said that there should not be politics on the distribution of national resources, but the need of the hour is to resolve the issues in consultation and understanding with all the coalition parties.

He said that the recent statement of Sindh Information Minister Sharjeel Memon is valued by the government and taken as a positive message. The federal minister made it clear that it is not constitutionally possible to give water from any province to another province, and removing such reservations is among the priorities of the government.

Ata Tarar stressed that the distribution of water is an administrative issue, which can harm the unity of the country by putting a political color on it. He said that the government wants to take all the allies along.

Meanwhile, Adviser to the Prime Minister on Political Affairs Rana Sanaullah said in a separate statement that the main target of the protests in Sindh is not the rivers but the PPP, and the people need not worry much about the PPP’s statements.
