Hafiz Naeem questions silence of Muslim leadership on Israeli oppression and US backing

Islamabad: Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman of Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan has said that the rulers of the Muslim world should learn from the student movements in favor of the Palestinians in the United States and Europe.

In Islamabad, Jamaat-e-Islami held a large public march against Israeli atrocities and in solidarity with the people of Gaza, where Hafiz Naeem announced that a nationwide strike would be held on April 26.

In his address, he said that Gaza has become a heap of rubble and Israel has the full backing of the United States. He asked, Who were the people who went to Israel from Pakistan and made promises? And who sent them to Tel Aviv?

Describing America as the killer of Muslims and humanity, Hafiz Naeem said that it is the duty of every decent human being to raise his voice in favor of the Palestinians. He said that if we declare no container can block our way, we do not want confrontation, but we will not remain silent against tyranny.

The Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami demanded that an office of the Palestinian organization Hamas be opened in Pakistan to show real solidarity with the oppressed.
