Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has directed to crack down on overcharging of passengers going home on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr. He has directed all the concerned authorities to ensure strict implementation of the fixed fares and immediate action should be taken on any complaint.
The Punjab Chief Minister made it clear that the exploitation of poor passengers returning to their homes on Eid would not be allowed. Giving the task of special monitoring to the deputy commissioners, he said that if any transporter is found charging excess fare, legal action will be taken against him.
Following the government’s orders, transport authorities across the province have been alerted. So that people do not have to face any kind of problem in travel facilities during Eid.
