The President and the Prime Minister have greeted the nation on the occasion of Pakistan Day.

ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari, in his message, said that the resolution passed on March 23, 1940, paved the way for the establishment of an independent and sovereign state. He said that the same spirit that gave existence to Pakistan can lead us to a bright future: “We are currently facing major political, economic, and security challenges, but we remain steadfast in defending our sovereignty and territorial integrity.” He appealed to the nation to forget all differences and unite, as national integration is the basis of development.
Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif also said in his message to the nation on the occasion of Pakistan Day that we need perseverance and collective vision to make Pakistan the country envisioned by the Father of the Nation. He said that the journey from a rising nation to becoming a nuclear power is a manifestation of perseverance and determination, but our journey is not over yet, but we have to take it to greater heights of development.
Referring to the economic improvement during the last year, the Prime Minister said that his government put the country’s economy on the path of sustainable development, the inflation rate steadily declined, and the confidence of investors was restored. He said that the global financial institutions and rating agencies are also acknowledging Pakistan’s economic improvement, and with the right policies, good faith, and national unity, we can achieve more prosperity.
The two leaders paid homage to the martyrs who laid down their lives in the defense of the country and appreciated the sacrifices made by the Armed Forces for the defense of the country. He expressed the resolve that all sections have to work together to make Pakistan a strong, prosperous, and developed country.
