Joining APC: Government announces unconditional invitation to PTI

ISLAMABAD: Defence Minister Khawaja Asif has announced that the government is ready to invite all political parties, including Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), to attend the All Parties Conference (APC). He said that all parties should come together to solve national problems, and the PTI should also join the APC without any conditions.
Khawaja Asif made it clear that the impact of Pakistan’s economic development should first be felt by the people of Balochistan, and the involvement of any party in national development should not be made conditional. He said his party has always given priority to the national interest, and remained part of the democratic process even in difficult circumstances.
Citing the example of the PPP, he said Benazir Bhutto became a victim of terrorism, but her party never imposed conditions on national issues. Criticising the PTI, he said that if they are already imposing conditions for joining, then it shows their intention.
The defence minister revealed how decisions were taken at PTI meetings in the past. He said that he himself had been involved in these meetings, where two officers were present outside, and the meeting was headed by Asad Qaiser. He further said that terrorism was on the rise in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, but the PTI founder did not make any clear statement in condemning it.
After this unconditional invitation from the government, it will be seen how PTI responds to this offer and whether it shows willingness to negotiate at the national level.
