Islamabad: Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar has said that the enemy wants to see Pakistan in economic default, but the government will face the coming challenges in a better way. Speaking at the foundation stone-laying ceremony of the head office of the Competition Commission of Pakistan, he said that the youth have to use their potential for the betterment of the economy. Emphasizing the scope for improvement in corporate law, he said that the Corporate Law Authority has been made an autonomous body, while the Competition Commission is responsible for protecting the rights of consumers.
Ishaq Dar said that it is the collective responsibility of all to take the country forward. He expressed satisfaction over the Pakistan Stock Exchange touching the heights after the merger of the stock markets. He said that Pakistan was declared an unstable market in 2013, but after that the economy improved and the stock market reached heights. He said if the country has to progress, it has a lot of potential.
The Deputy Prime Minister further said that Pakistan has been blessed by Allah with all kinds of blessings. He lauded the achievements of the Competition Commission under the leadership of Dr. Kabir Sidhu and said that Pakistan has made significant progress through the multilateral event after 27 years. He said that Pakistan will become a part of G20 by 2030 if the same progress continues.
