Islamabad: Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi met with Alexander Green, a member of the US Congressional Finance Committee, to discuss strengthening Pakistan-US relations. The two leaders exchanged views on fostering closer cooperation between the two countries.
During the meeting, Naqvi informed Green about the terrorism and infiltration issues stemming from Afghanistan and expressed his gratitude for the US support in helping the victims of the recent earthquake and floods in Pakistan.
The interior minister also praised Green’s principled stance on the Palestinian issue, commending his strong voice for Palestine. Naqvi acknowledged that Green’s position had been widely appreciated.
Naqvi emphasized that relations between Pakistan and the US were warming, with prospects of even closer ties in the future.
Congressman Green expressed his intention to visit Pakistan again soon, noting that he had previously visited the country four times to show solidarity and provide aid during earthquakes and floods.
