Supreme Court to Hear Petitions Against 26th Constitutional Amendment on January 27

Islamabad: A press release from Pakistan’s Supreme Court has announced that petitions challenging the 26th Constitutional Amendment will go before Courtroom No. 2 on January 27. According to court disclosure, the hearing will take place with a committee of judges greater than a single one.

Special security measures have been established to protect court participants throughout the hearing process. All persons wanting to enter Courtroom No. 2 must show special permission issued by the court, as entry remains strictly limited. Everyone must show a pass to enter if their case has an upcoming hearing that day.

According to the press release issued, passes will be distributed to regular visiting lawyers and journalists interacting with the Supreme Court. The court proceedings of that hearing are accessible through audio links in Courtrooms 6 and 7 for lawyers and journalists.

Security checks will determine entrance opportunities into the Supreme Court building for all visitors. The construction of courtroom rules limits the entry of mobile phones to maintain undisturbed proceedings throughout the hearing.

Healthy security protocols remain in place to both preserve courtroom order and enable trouble-free case management.
