Islamabad – Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has welcomed participation of Pakistan in the Digital Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) Initiative, stating that it is a good sign for the development.
Announcing the initiative, the Prime Minister noted that Pakistan is the pioneer country for adopting the concept of the Digital FDI Initiative. He commended the country’s first digital FDI project for its endeavours to advance affordances of digital transformation and innovation.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, while briefing, said that the PM’s new initiative will target sectors that have the potential for direct foreign investment and provide chances of growth.
It is a breakthrough towards ensuring that the establishment of an investor-friendly environment within the country is achieved. Pakistan is moving towards a holistic digital economy,” he remarked.
The Prime Minister also said this move proves the government’s interest in carrying out policies that promote the development of the national economy and constructing the digital infrastructure.
